What
should I bring to practices?
Bring your protection gear, bottle of water, and quad skates. If
you do not own quad roller skates you can rent them at our indoor practices.
Where are practices held?
We currenty practice at both San Jose Skate, in San Jose, and the
Redwood Roller Rink, in Redwood City. Practices are closed to
the public, so the schedule isn't published here, but contact
us for more details.
Where
can I purchase quad roller skates and protective gear?
Many rollergirls buy their gear online and at their local skateboard
shops.You can buy gear at the pro shop at our home rink, San Jose Skate .
Another good source is ViaDerby.com.

I've skated a few times but I'm not really good at skating, can I still
come to practices?
Most of our girls begin roller derby with little skating ability.
We have excellent coaches who will help you develop your skating ability
and derby skills.
I'm out of shape, should I pretrain before I come to practice?
Besides doing basic stretching, push ups, and sit ups the best way
to get trained to become a rollergirl is to start attending practices.

Where do I sign up?
We require all interested skaters to attend and observe one whole practice,
then attend and skate another practice before you join. After attending
two practices, you can come to a monthly recruitment meeting. Just drop
us a line when you're ready to come check out your first practice.
SVRG
needs referees (Guys, this part applies to you too!)
- Referee
candidates must demonstrate a willingness to learn Womens Flat Track
Derby Association's official rules and
- Be
available to attend at least one practice a week

How do refs help out at practices?
Refs help enforce rules during our scrimmage section of practice.
Refs can also help run and participate in drills.

are a variety of ways to help out with SVRG. We are currently looking
for people to help out in the following areas (Sponsorships are available
